The Mission of the First Missionary Baptist Church is set forth in the Holy Scriptures, Matthew 28:19-20, which states, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” This is what we stood on when we started in 1982, what we stand on now and what we will continue to do as God’s church.

Enabled by God’s grace, we are sowing seeds of God’s love, growing into faithful Christ followers, and going into the world to share God’s love: 

By the Holy Spirit, the Word of God is being sown in our hearts and lives.
By the grace of God, we are growing into faithful Christ followers.
By the call of Christ, we are going into the world to share God’s love.

Matthew 25:35-40 is our church resume.  We have been instructed to feed the hungry and give drink to those who are thirsty, to shelter the stranger, clothe the naked and visit the sick as well as those who are in prison. 

We are giving a hand up not just a hand out by opening doors to the community by way of training, preparing and demonstrating effective means to reach set goals.  Through our NuVision Young Adult Ministry we are training our youth how to develop social skills such as writing a check, filling out job applications and how to dress for interviews. Our Bread for Days Ministry provides bread and sweets to shelters, the homeless and college students. Our social media platform allows the church to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are not able to come to the physical building.

We have been commissioned by God to do a specific work, to win souls for Christ and that is what we have done in the past, what we are doing now to the Glory of God, and what we will continue to do!

The Lord is my strength.
The Lord is my fortress.
The Lord is my God and in Him alone will I trust.
